Berry Johnston: 'Ok, Honey, We'll Go Eat If That's What You Want To Do'

Berry Johnston was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2003. It’s believed that it was his third dream. The other two were as follows.

Maureen Feduniak: "I always missed dancing"

Maureen Feduniak: "I always missed dancing"

Maureen "Mo" Feduniak didn't dream of being a poker player while growing up outside London, as many pros do when they are young. Her dream was to be a dancer. Her mother had been a ballroom dancer, and she worked so that her daughter could take dancing lessons, starting at age 4. But her Irish, blue-collar father objected to the daughter pursuing dancing professionally, as he thought it was "rather sleazy," as Feduniak says.

Ellix Powers

Ellix Powers

Before the “World Poker Tour” hit America by storm, the game of poker attracted a motley bunch of individuals to its tables. Vagrants, drifters, shiftless traveling men, and general outcasts were drawn to poker for its appeal of chance and fast money. Now that playing poker is the new national past time, this aspect of the game has been overshadowed by the Joe Average’s who are seen winning major pots on national television each week. That is until Ellix Powers (sic) hit the scene reintroducing poker to its shady past almost overnight.

Oklahoma Johnny Hale

Oklahoma Johnny Hale

Look up Pittsburg, Oklahoma on any map and you will need to look close. That tiny dot on the map which is south of Tulsa is the birthplace of Oklahoma Johnny Hale. Here is a man who has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Oklahoma University and who considers himself everything from a rags to riches businessman, to senior citizen spokesperson, to a poker author. He may be among the older gents known in poker circles - but he has a lot of history within the sport and plenty to tell about poker.

David Colclough - Dealing With Cards, Not With Computer

David Colclough - Dealing With Cards, Not With Computer

"Going Postal" on someone means something completely different when you are watching David Colclough play poker. To be fair, he was not the sort of letter carrier that is associated with really bad things happening, and his career in IT did take him to many other places besides the Post Office, but when one faces off against the former technology pro, very bad things can happen to you.

Dennis Quaid

Dennis Quaid

Dennis Quaid recently got several well-known stars and celebs together for a special poker tournament to benefit the International Hospital for Children Foundation, a charity he backs, to provide aid for the children affected by hurricane Katrina. The tournament proved a rousing success, raising over $50,000 at the HollywoodPoker.com first anniversary party at the Montemate Lounge this past November.

Rusty Mandap

Rusty Mandap

Hawaii has been the home to many things. Bad cop shows from the 1970’s, at least three Elvis movies, one Brady Bunch special, and some guy who sings of the wonder of tiny bubbles are some of the more notable people and events that have graced the Hawaiian Islands. A name that doesn’t spring immediately to mind is Rusty Mandap.

Hoyt Corkins: 'Mr All-In'

Hoyt Corkins: 'Mr All-In'

His first major win dates back to 1989. In 1992 he won the WSOP golden bracelet for the first place in Pot Limit Omaha event and… quit gambling for eleven years. What was he doing? He just enjoyed quite like at his cattle farm in Alabama. But he became bored and now he is back again.

Pascal Perrault: Influencing Chance

Pascal Perrault: Influencing Chance

It is not likely that a large number of poker professionals can claim that they have the ability to do what Pascal Perrault says he can. He truly believes in his own ability to exert an influence on chance. Call it deep intuition or call it crazy - but Perrault insists that his extrasensory perception - or ESP - is the absolute key to his ability to determine the outcome of the game in many instances. It is his own personal way of feeling out opponents and attempting to capitalize on what he senses.

Marcel Luske: 'When I'm Having A Good Time, I Like To Entertain'

Marcel Luske: 'When I'm Having A Good Time, I Like To Entertain'

"Upside down sunglasses and a $5 hat while wearing a $1000 suit defines this guy...." Yeah, Marcel Luske aka The Flying Dutchman likes epatage. He is considered one of the most entertaining poker players in the world. “The European version of Scotty Nguyen,” as he was once called. But Luske is not only an entertainer but a very skillful and aggressive player.

Aidily "Lily" Elviro: Well Stacked

Aidily "Lily" Elviro: Well Stacked

Certainly one cannot deny that it is difficult to look at Lily Elviro without quickly taking notice of her distinctly bountiful assets. Not referring to her stack of chips - she is often, obviously, described as being "stacked". It is no miracle of science then that she caught the eye of poker player Michael "The Grinder" Mizrachi.

Matthew Fox: A Little Texas Holdem With Stacks of Fruit for Chips

Matthew Fox: A Little Texas Holdem With Stacks of Fruit for Chips

A little lost on why Matthew Fox is profiled as a poker player? After all, the 6' 2" "dreamboat" isn't a rounder, nor is he a pro tourney player - he is, in fact, an actor, and one of the main characters on a TV show that has seized the global zeitgeist, "Lost". He did, however, learn how to play poker in Thailand - no, wait, that wasn't Matt Fox, that was his character, Jack Shepard.

Clare Miller

Clare Miller

Both Clare Miller and her husband were participants in the 2006 World Series of Poker Seniors Event, and both managed to make it into the top 50. While this alone was a good accomplishment, Miller went all the way to take first prize and the sought after World Series of Poker bracelet. Miller's husband, who busted out in 40th position, was her entire support team. More than $240,000 went to Miller for her win, and the distinction of being the first woman in 37 years to win the Seniors Event at the World Series of Poker.

Camryn Manheim

Camryn Manheim

Camryn Manheim is relatively new to competitive poker playing, but on Bravo’s Celebrity Poker Showdown she showed herself to be a quick study more than willing to look you up if you show a moment’s hesitation. She has appeared twice on Celebrity Poker Showdown, playing in Tournament 5, Game 4 and Tournament 7, Game 5. In Tournament 5 Game 4, Camryn was the last poker player at the table to be defeated by Colin Quinn. She has also been featured on the Travel Channel’s World Poker Tour and the Game Show Network’s Celebrity Blackjack.

Drew Carey

Drew Carey

This ex-marine and Cleveland funny-man might be known as one of the entertainment industry's straightest shooters and all-around stand-up guy, but he also has a reputation as a tough opponent at the poker table. A regular in Vegas, the star of the long-running Drew Carey Show and producer/host of the American version of Who’s Line Is It Anyway? is also a die-hard wrestling fan, having competed in the World Wrestling Federation's 30-man 2001 Royal Rumble battle royal match.

Ellen DeGeneres

Ellen DeGeneres

Anybody who is not aware of Ellen DeGeneres has probably spent the last few years living in a cave or an Amish community. Ellen's career has been hallmarked by dramatic moments, massive successes and the occasional public airing of her very personal dirty laundry. She has gone from the stand-up stage to her own hit television sitcom, to near public anonymity. After some rather torrid personal issues, she rose from the ashes and is now back on top as the host of her own hit talk show.

Helen Chamberlain

Helen Chamberlain

There are a lot of women for whom the words “can stop traffic” have been applied. In the case of television presenter, poker player, football enthusiast, and occasional fire eater, Helen Chamberlain, the axiom is actually true. Before we get on to the topic of how her dangerous curves caused a rare accident that involved a pair of double decker buses, let us introduce you to this fascinating woman.

Miami John Cernuto: 'One Of The Best Tournament Stud Players In The World'

Miami John Cernuto: 'One Of The Best Tournament Stud Players In The World'

The pressure at an average gaming table in any casino can make a good poker player sweat. The type of pressure inherent to high stakes poker, with the world watching on ESPN, is enough to send most players to a place with soft walls and men in white coats who start most conversations with the words "Tell me about your mother". To Miami John Cernuto though, pressure has been a way of life.

Kianoush Abolfathi: A Newcomer with a WSOP Bracelet

Kianoush Abolfathi: A Newcomer with a WSOP Bracelet

Kianoush Abolfathi may not be a household name (and perhaps not the one easily pronounced) in the world of poker, but there are a lot of game announcers who are practicing the pronunciation of his name these days. And for good reason.
